Honored coach of Ukraine in rugby

Honored coach of Ukraine in rugby, Denbnovetsky Leonid Vladimirovich, having successful experience working with professional teams and the national team of Ukraine, decided to dedicate himself to working with children.

 

He was born in Kyiv in 1944. He studied at school №77 (now Klovsky Lyceum). He was engaged in athletics (was a sprinter). Graduated from the Kyiv Polytechnic Institute (KPI), Faculty of Automation and Electrical Instrumentation. Computer engineer. Worked as an engineer at the Institute of Cybernetics of the USSR Academy of Sciences.

Game career:

In September 1964 he started playing rugby (Dynamo Kyiv, which became the first Ukrainian rugby champion in October 1965. Champion of Ukraine in 1965, 1967, 1968) After the end of the 1968 season, he finished playing due to injury .

Coaching career:

  • From autumn of 1968 he was the second coach of the Dynamo Kyiv team. In 1969 he became the Champion of Ukraine with a team as a playing coach.

  • In 1970 he was invited to the position of head coach of the KPI Polytechnic team. 

  • 1971 - 2nd place in the championship of the Ukrainian Council DST «Burevisnyk». Championship of Ukraine - 5th place (out of 8 teams).

  • 1972 - the championship of the Ukrainian Council DST «Burevisnyk» - the first place. Championship of Ukraine - 3rd place (out of 8 teams).

  • 1972-1976 He studied at the Kyiv Institute of Physical Culture (coach - teacher).

  • 1973 - DST «Burevisnyk» - 1st place, Championship of Ukraine - 2nd place, after which the team got the right to play in the First League of the USSR Championship, where it took second place out of 8 teams, losing in the final to the team of Moscow «Locomotive» with a score of 17: 6 .

  • 1974: Champions of DST «Burevisnyk». Championship of Ukraine - 3rd place.

  • 1975-1977: Senior coach of the junior team of Polytechnic KPI.

  • 1976: First place in the Championship of Ukraine and second place in the Championship of the USSR among juniors (out of 8 teams), lost in the final to the team «Slava» from Moscow with a score of 9:17.

  • 1977: Championship of Ukraine - first place, USSR Championship - 3rd place (lost to «Slava» from Moscow 3: 6 and «Fili»  from Moscow 3: 6).

  • 1978-1980: Head coach of the team «Sokil» Lviv. During this period, the team from the 10th place in the First League got into the Premier League of the USSR Championship.

  • 1981-1994: Head coach of the team Polytechnic-Kyiv. During this period, the team became Champions of Ukraine 5 times, took 2nd place 7 times, 3rd place - 2 times.

  • From 1993 to 1995: Head coach of the National Team of Ukraine.

  • 1996-1999: Coach of the student team «Polytechnic». Senior lecturer of the Department of Sports Improvement at KPI. 

  • 2000-2003: Senior coach of the Academy of the Air Force of Ukraine team. 2001-2002: the team took second place in the Premier League of the Championship of Ukraine.

  • 2004-2013: Coach of the youth team «Polytechnic». During this period, the team participated in the First League of the Championship of Ukraine and got: 1st place - 4 times, 2nd place - 3 times.

  • 2014: Denbnovetsky began to recruit children to the established children's and youth team «KSK - Youth Sports School Irpin» at the training base of Youth Sports School in Irpin, Kyiv region. The team was created on March 10, 2014.
