Our small club achieved unprecedented success in 2018 - in the age categories of 2002-2003 and 2003-2004 in rugby-15 and rugby-7 we won three championship titles out of three!
This shocked the whole rugby Ukraine! Even at the leading center for the development of children's and youth rugby in Ukraine in Odessa, unusual measures were taken to get revenge - they reduced the number of Odessa rugby teams competing in the Ukrainian Championship to unite and strengthen teams: two teams instead of three, players born 2003-2004. And at the age of 16-17 years (born in 2002-2003) the representative team of Odessa was created.
After all, rugby 5 is actively developing in this southern city: more than 70 school teams take part in the city championship, the best players of which move to the teams of three CYSS, where 12 coaches work.
The only Rugby Academy in Ukraine, whose training base is exemplary, has been operating successfully for over 10 years. So, we will have a difficult season: after all, they always play against the champions with double energy!
Preparations for the 2019 season began on December 1. Game and functional skills were improved in the gym of the school №12 in Irpin. Athletic training was traditionally held in the weightlifting hall of Kyiv Polytechnic Institute.
On a monthly basis, we began to conduct operational testing of both the strength indicators of players' training and their speed capabilities.
On March 9, the first control game with the Kyiv-Darnytsia team was held. The result is 29:5 (12:5).
On March 17, there was the second control game with Kyiv-Darnytsia. The result is 17:5 (10:0).
